How to Change the Band on an Apple Watch

Open the watch case

The first step is to open the watch case. The digital crown should be in the lower-left corner. To open the case, press and hold the release button on the opposite side of the case. The case will open and you can now see the battery.

Unscrew the two small screws on the back of the watch case

To change the band on apple watch you’ll need to unscrew the two small screws on the back of the watch case. Once the screws are removed, you’ll be able to slide the old band off and replace it with a new one. Make sure to screw the new band in place before wearing your watch.

Gently pry the back of the case off

If your watch has a plastic or metal case, you can use a case opener tool or a small flathead screwdriver to gently pry the back of the case off. Be careful not to damage the gasket that seals the case.

For leather and stainless steel cases, you’ll need to remove the band first. To do this, press and hold the release button on the strap, then slide the band out of the groove.

Remove the old band

Slide the band out of the groove

Assuming you want to remove the band to put a new one on:

-Turn your watch over so the bottom of the watch case is facing up.
-Locate the small release button on the band holder closest to the watch face.
-Press and hold the release button, then slide the band across and out of the groove.

Insert the new band

Align the new band with the groove

Before you start, make sure that your new band is the right size. You can do this by checking the band size on the back of the watch case.

– Press one side of the new band into place, then press the other side into place.

Press the band into place

To attach the new band, line up the pin on the band with the hole on the Watch case. Press the band into place until you hear a click.

Close the watch case

To remove the old band and insert the new one, you’ll need to open the watch case. First, remove the band from your wrist. If your watch has a resin band, press and hold the release button, then slide the band across the top of the watch face. If your watch has a leather band, press the quick release button, then slide the band across the top of the watch face. If your watch has a metal band, slide the band across the top of the watch face.

Place the back of the case onto the watch

If your watch has a Sport Band, buckle it into the smallest hole that’s comfortable. If you’re using a leather band, line up the groove in the band with the top of the watch case, then insert the end of the band into the slot.

Screw the two small screws back in

Use the Phillips screwdriver to screw the two small screws back in. Be careful not to overtighten the screws, or you could strip them.
