How to Change the Battery in Your Apple TV Remote

You can easily change the battery in apple tv remote control so you don’t have to worry about it running out of power.

Open the battery compartment.

Use a coin to twist the cap counterclockwise. If the coin doesn’t fit, use a flat head screwdriver. Gently pull the cover off the remote. You should see a small, rectangular battery inside.

Remove the old batteries.

Open the battery compartment. You may need to use a coin or a small tool to twist the cover open.

Remove the old batteries. If they’re stuck, wiggle them back and forth until they come out. If corrosion is present, clean it off with a cotton swab dipped in rubbing alcohol.

Install the new batteries. Make sure they’re inserted correctly by following the diagram in the battery compartment. If you can’t see it, consult apple tv manual.

Insert the new batteries.

Open the battery compartment.

Remove the old batteries and insert the new ones, making sure that they are inserted in the correct direction. You will know that they are in correctly when you see the plus and minus symbols on the batteries lining up with the plus and minus symbols on the inside of the battery compartment.

Close the battery compartment.

To close the battery compartment, insert the top of the remote into the compartment, then slide it down until it snaps into place.

Test the remote.

1. Open the remote. To do this, locate the small seam on the bottom of the remote.

2. Using a small Phillips head screwdriver, remove the two screws that are holding the bottom plate in place.

3. Carefully remove the bottom plate. Be careful not to lose the small black O-ring that sits between the plate and the body of the remote.

4. Remove the old battery and insert a new one, making sure that the positive (+) end is facing up.

5. Replace the bottom plate and screw it back into place. Make sure that the O-ring is still in place before you screw everything back together.

6. Test your remote to see if it’working properly now.
