How to Change Your Apple ID Country

Are you moving to a new country or region, and want to change apple id to reflect your new location? Here’s how to do it!

Open Settings and sign in with your Apple ID.

Go to Settings and sign in with your Apple ID. Tap iTunes & App Store. Tap your Apple ID, tap view apple id You might be asked to enter your passcode or password. Tap Country/Region, then tap Change Country or Region. If you don’t see “Country/Region,”contact apple support Select your new country or region, then review the terms and conditions and tap Agree in the upper-right corner of the screen.

Tap on your name, then tap iTunes & App Store.

If you move to a new country or region, you can update the country or region that’s associated with your Apple ID. Before you update your information, we’ll send a verification code to your previous email address or phone number.

If you don’t have access to your previous email address or phone number, create a new Apple ID.

Tap your Apple ID, then tap View Apple ID. You might need to sign in or use Touch ID.

If you move to a new country or region, you can update the country or region that’s associated with your Apple ID. Before you update your information, we’ll send a verification code to your trusted phone number or email.

When you update your Apple ID that is used with the iTunes Store, App Store, or other Apple services, you might see a message that says “this device is no longer eligible for creating a free developer account.” If this happens, it’s because you’re trying to use an email address that was already used to create a new Apple ID within the last three months.

Tap Country/Region.

On your iPhone, iPad, or iPod touch:

Open the Settings app. Tap your name, then tap iTunes & App Store.* Tap your Apple ID, then tap View Apple ID. You might be asked to sign in. Scroll to Country/Region and tap it. Tap “Change Country or Region.” If you don’t see “Change Country or Region,”contact apple support * Tap your new country or region, then review the terms and conditions. Tap Agree when you’re ready to continue. Follow the instructions on the screen to enter a valid payment method and billing address for the new country or region.* Learn what to do if you can’t update your country or region.

On your Mac:
Open the App Store app. Click your name in the sidebar, then click View Information at the bottom of the window. You might be asked to sign in with your Apple ID. Click Country/Region, then click Change Country or Region.* Select your new country or region from the list that appears, then review the terms and conditions. Click Agree when you’re ready to continue.* Follow any instructions onscreen if prompted for additional information; for example, if you’re using an iCloud device with a different Apple ID from what you use with iTunes, you may need to enter different payment information; otherwise, select Payment Method and enter valid payment information for your new country or region.* If you don’t have any valid payment methods listed that work in your new country or region—for example because credit cards issued in that country aren’t compatible with iCloud—you need to add a valid payment method before you can change regions.* After updating both sections, click Done at the bottom of each page—or continue shopping if there are other items in your cart—then click Done again at the top of the main App Store window (not shown).

You can change your country or region on your iPhone, iPad, iPod touch, Mac, or PC.

To change your country or region on your iPhone, iPad, or iPod touch:
1. On your device, go to Settings > [your name], and tap “iTunes & App Store.”
2. Tap your Apple ID. If you’re not signed in, sign in with your Apple ID and password now.
3. Under Country/Region, tap “Change Country or Region.” If you don’t see “Change Country or Region,”contact apple support
4. Select the new country or region.* To keep using apps and services with your current Apple ID balance, you must spend it or cancel any subscriptions before you can switch countries.* When you switch countries, you won’t be able to use your current Apple ID balance to make purchases in the new country/region.* If you have an outstanding balance remaining on a previous purchase, you’ll need to pay that off before you can change countries/regions.* Learn more aboutChanging the country or region of your Apple ID
5. Tap Next and enter the required information.* To create an account in another country’s iTunes Store (an [email protected] address instead of an [email protected] address), provide a payment method from that country as well.* After completing all fields as required for each section that appears—including accepting the terms and conditions for that store—tap next at the top of each screen and wait until the next screen loads before tapping next again* You might see a message asking if you want to keep using iCloud Photos Library; select Keep Using iCloud Photos Library if this is the library that you want to use; otherwise select Download and Keep Originals to download all photos**and videos stored in iCloud Photos Library so they’re also stored locally on this device* Depending on which storefront you choose after completing all fields—including accepting the terms and conditions for that store—as required for each section that appears*, a verification code is sent to either an email address associated with [email protected]**or icloud**that was used when creating this account; if you have moved since creating this account*, verify that these are still active accounts**and passwords* After successfully providing a verification code from one of these email accounts; tap Next* The next screen verifies any outstanding balances associated with purchases made using this account: If there’s no outstanding balance due*, select Done in upper right corner of window* If there’s an outstanding balance due*, review payment options at bottom left corner of window: To update payment information now*, tap Update > enter billing information following prompts > when done entering billing information **and any other requested information**tap Update > when verification process is complete **following prompts**; OR To continue without updating payment information*, select Later then Done at top right corner of window

Tap your new country or region, then review the Terms & Conditions and tap Agree in the upper-right corner.

You might be asked to sign in with your Apple ID.

If you use iCloud, iMessage, or other services that require your phone number, updating your Apple ID to a new country or region might affect these services. For example, if you move from the United States to Canada, you can’t send text messages to Canadian phone numbers with your US phone number. To avoid disruptions to these services, update your phone number before you change your country or region. You can also change the order of your payment methods—just tap Edit and then drag the payment method that you want to be your first choice to the top of the list.

When you change your Apple ID country or region, you won’t be able to access iCloud Drive, iWork for iCloud apps, or iTunes U content that you already have. You will be able to access this content when you sign in with a different Apple ID that uses a different country or region:
-iCloud Drive: Open System Preferences > iCloud > Options > Documents, and deselect “Use iCloud Drive.” Then sign out of iCloud and sign back in with a different Apple ID.

-iWork for iCloud apps: On each app’s home page (Pages, Numbers, or Keynote), tap , then choose Sign Out. Then open the app again and sign in with a different Apple ID.

-iTunes U: To download new courses from iTunes U, first sign out of iTunes Store on all of your devices. Then sign back in with a different Apple ID so that courses associated with your new country or region become available.”

Tap Next, then enter your billing information.

If you don’t have a payment method on file, tap Add Payment Method. Then add your payment information and tap Next.

Tap Next, then review your information. If everything is correct, tap Done.

To change your country, you’ll need to update your Apple ID. Here’s how:

5. Tap “Change Country or Region.” If you don’t see “Change Country or Region,” contact Apple Support.
6. Select your new country or region, then tap Done
