Open the Settings app on your iPhone
If apple watch isn’t tracking your activity or distance, or if it seems to take longer to log your workouts, you might need to calibrate your device. Calibrating your watch can help it learn your pace and distance, and can improve your workout and activity readings. You should calibrate apple watch whenever you change the way you wear it. For example, if start wearing your Watch on a different wrist, or if you put on or take off a covering over the sensors.
To calibrate your Apple Watch:
1. Open the Settings app on your iPhone.
2. Tap Privacy > Location Services.
3. Make sure that Location Services is turned on.
4. Scroll down and tap System Services.
5. Make sure that Motion Calibration & Distance is turned on.
Tap on the Privacy tab
Open the Settings app on your iPhone, then tap on the Privacy tab. Next, select Location Services. Scroll down and select System Services. Finally, select Calibrate Watch.
Tap on Location Services
Apple Watch Series 3 (GPS + Cellular) and Series 4 (GPS + Cellular):
1. Open the Settings app on your iPhone, then tap Privacy > Location Services.
2. Scroll down, then tap System Services.
3. Turn on Motion Calibration & Distance.
4. For Apple Watch Series 3 (GPS + Cellular), you can also turn on Low Power Mode to help extend the battery life of your watch during calibration.
Scroll down and tap on System Services
Under the Privacy heading, scroll down and tap on System Services. You might have to enter your passcode at this point. Once you’re in, scroll all the way down to the bottom and toggle on the option for Calibrating Your Watch.
Tap on the toggle next to Motion Calibration & Distance
Open the Settings app on your iPhone.
Tap Privacy > Location Services.
Make sure that Location Services is turned on.
Scroll down, then tap System Services.
Turn on Motion Calibration & Distance.
Exit the Settings app
1. Open the Settings app on your Apple Watch.
2. Scroll down tap general
3. Tap About.
4. Scroll down and tap the entry for Reset.
5. Tap Reset All Settings and enter your passcode when prompted.
6. Tap Reset All Settings to confirm your choice and restart your Apple Watch
Go for a run or walk for at least 20 minutes
Itβs simple: Go for a run or walk with your Apple Watch for at least 20 minutes while wearing your iPhone. The Apple Watch uses the GPS in your iPhone to track how far you go and analyze your pace.
Open the Health app on your iPhone
Open the Health app on your iPhone. If you don’t have an iPhone, you can skip this step.
Tap the Search tab.
Enter “Apple Watch.”
Tap Apple Watch Calibration (Beta).
If you don’t see Apple Watch Calibration (Beta), your watch doesn’t need to be calibrated.
Follow the instructions on your screen.
Tap on the Sources tab
Assuming that you have already installed the Watch application on your connected iPhone, open the app and go to the Sources tab. Here you should see your Activity app data as well as any other third-party applications that are compatible with Apple Watch.
Open watch app on your iPhone.
Tap the watch tab then tap General > About.
If you see ‘Calibrate later,’ tap it to calibrate now.
Tap on the Calibrate button and follow the on-screen instructions.
