How to Avoid Tolls on Apple Maps

If you’re using Apple Maps to get around, you might be surprised find out that it can sometimes route you onto toll roads without warning. Here’s how to avoid that.

Open the settings app on your iPhone.

Open the settings app on your iPhone.

Next, tap on Maps.

Then, tap on Driving & Navigation.

Finally, toggle Toll roads to the off position.

Tap Maps.

In the upper left corner, tap the Maps icon .

Type your destination in the Search bar.

Tap Route, then tap Driving Options.

Turn on Avoid Tolls or Avoid Highways.

Tap Driving & Navigation.

If you’re using Maps in Light Mode, maps are rendered in a lighter shade of gray.

Tap Search, then enter an address or tap on a place mark.

In the search results, tap the route you want, then Tap Go. In the route details, tap the button next to Avoid Highways to add or remove the checkmark .

Tap the slider next to Avoid Tolls to the Off position.
