How to Authorize Apple TV on Mac

You can authorize your Apple TV to play content from your iTunes Library. Here’s how to do it on your Mac.

Open settings app on your Mac.

Click the System Preferences icon in the Dock.

Click the iCloud icon.

Sign in with apple id if you haven’t already.

Click the Options button next to Apple TV.

Select Authorize this computer, then click Authorize.

Click on the Users & Groups preference pane.

Click on the Users & Groups preference pane.
In the left-hand sidebar, select the user you want to authorize.
Click on the “Allow remote login” checkbox. The option will now say “Remote login: On.”
Close System Preferences.

Select the user account you want to authorize in the left sidebar.

Open apple music app on your Mac. From the menu bar at the top of your screen, choose Account > Authorizations > Authorize This Computer.

Enter your password, then click Authorize.

Click on the “iTunes & App Store” option in the right sidebar.

In the “iTunes & App Store” section, click on the “Apple ID” link in the upper-left corner. A pop-up window will appear asking you to sign in with apple id Enter apple id information and click on the “Sign In” button.

Once you’re signed in, click on the “iTunes & App Store” option again. This time, you should see apple id info in the upper-left corner. Click on the “View Information” button in the lower-right corner.

In the “iTunes & App Store” section of apple id info page, scroll down to the bottom and click on the “Manage” button under the “Subscriptions” section.

Click on the “iTunes & App Store” option again and then click on your Apple ID in the upper-left corner. A pop-up window will appear asking you to sign in with your Apple ID. Enter your Apple ID information and click on the “Sign In” button.

Once you’re signed in, click on the “Account” option in the left sidebar. In the main section of your account page, scroll down to the bottom and click on under to manage your subscriptions.”

Check the “Authorize This Computer” box.

1. Open the “iTunes” app on your Mac. You can find this in the “Applications” folder, or by searching for it in Spotlight.

2. Select “Preferences” from the iTunes menu.

3. Click on the “Devices” tab.

4. Check the “Authorize This Computer” box. You will be prompted to enter your Apple ID and password.

5. Click the “Authorize” button to complete the process.

Enter your Apple ID and password when prompted.

If you’re asked to enter your Apple ID and password when you connect your device to your Mac, it means that your device isn’t authorized to play content purchased from the iTunes Store. To authorize your Mac, open the Music app or Apple TV app. If you’re using macOS Catalina, open the Finder.

On your Mac, click the device button in the upper-left corner of the iTunes window. If you don’t see the device button , hover your pointer over the left side of the iTunes window, then click the word “Library” when it appears.

In the sidebar on the left, select Summary.

Click “Configure Accessibility.”

Select “Trust” next to your device name.

Click the Authorize button.

The first time you try to play a protected iTunes Store movie or TV show on your Apple TV, you may be prompted to enter the password for your buying account. After you enter the password, click the Authorize button. iTunes will then attempt to authorize your computer with the Apple ID that you’re using. If successful, a message will appear stating that your computer is now authorized.
