How to Add Apple TV to HomeKit

You can now add apple tv to HomeKit and control it with Siri. Here’s a quick guide on how to do it.

Open the Home app on your ‌iPhone‌ or ‌iPad‌.

If you don’t already have the Home app, download it from the App Store.

Tap the Add Accessory button . If you don’t see the Add Accessory button, tap the + in the top-right corner, then tap Add Accessory.

Point your iOS device at your ‌Apple TV‌ or ‌HomePod mini‌.
A four-digit code appears on your ‌Apple TV‌ or ‌HomePod mini‌. Enter this code into your iOS device.

Tap Done when prompted and then name your accessory. You can also choose to add it to a room at this time.

Tap the Add Accessory button.

In order to add apple tv to HomeKit, you will need to open the Home app on your iOS device and tap the Add Accessory button. Next, you will need to select your Apple TV from the list of available devices. Once you have selected your Apple TV, you will need to enter the access code that is displayed on your screen. Once you have entered the access code, you will be able to add your Apple TV to your HomeKit setup.

Tap Don’t Have a Code or Can’t Scan?

If you can’t use a QR code, or if you don’t have a HomeKit code for your Apple TV, you can still add your Apple TV to your home.

1.Open the Home app on your iPhone, iPad,pod touch, or Mac.
2.Tap Add Accessory or + in top right corner
3.Tap I Don’t Have a Code or Cannot Scan.
4.Enter the 8-digit HomeKit code for your Apple TV (found on its packaging),or tap Next and follow the instructions in the app.

On your iOS device, open the Home app, and tap Add Accessory or + in the upper-right corner. If you don’t see + in the upper-right corner, tap Edit in the upper-left corner, then tap Add Accessory or + in the upper-right corner. Tap I Don’t Have a Code or Cannot Scan. Enter the eight-digit HomeKit code that appears on apple tv remote then tap Add Accessory. If you can’find your remote, you can enter the QR code shown on your Apple TV screen:

On 4th generation and earlier Apple TV models: Go to Settings > Accounts > iCloud and turn on HomeKit.
On 5th generation Apple TV models with tvOS 12 or later: Go to Settings > Accounts > iCloud and turn on iCloud Syncing, then turn on HomeKit.
On 6th generation Apple TV models and later: Open the Home app and go to Settings > Accounts > iCloud > Manage Storage.

Tap Add Accessory.

If you don’t see your Apple TV listed, make sure that it’s on and awake, and that you’re using the same Wi-Fi network on your iOS device and Apple TV. Also check that any firewalls are configured to allow communication with ports 5353 (UDP) and 554 (TCP).

To add your Apple TV to HomeKit:

1. Open the Home app.
2. Tap Add Accessory or tap an existing accessory to add it to a room.
3. Or tap Add Accessory orscan the HomeKit code on the accessory or its documentation. If you don’t see your accessory listed, make sure that it’s powered on and near your iOS device.
4. Follow the instructions in the app to finish adding your accessory.

Tap Done.

configuring Apple TV for HomeKit requires tvOS 11.2 or later and iOS 11.2 or later on your iPhone or iPad. To get started, make sure that your devices meet the minimum requirements then follow the steps below:

On your Apple TV, go to Settings > System > Software Updates and download the latest tvOS update.
On your iPhone or iPad, go to Settings > General > Software Update and download the latest iOS update.
Open the Home app and tap Add Accessory or + in top right corner
Tap Don’t Have a Code or Can’t Scan, then enter the eight-digit HomeKit code for your Apple TV. If you don’t have this code, you can find it in Settings > Remotes and Devices > Remote App and Devices on your Apple TV.
Once your accessory appears in the app, you can rename it, change its icon, assign it to a room, and more.
