How to Add an Apple Gift Card to Your Wallet

Learn how to add an Apple Gift Card to your Wallet on iPhone and iPad. You can add the Apple Gift Card to your Wallet so you can easily use it at a later time.

Open the Wallet app on your iPhone.

If you have an iPhone, you can store your Apple Gift Card in your Wallet. To add your gift card to Wallet, you need to have at least iOS 11.2 on your iPhone.

1. Open the Wallet app on your iPhone.
2. Tap the “+” sign in the upper-right corner.
3. Under “Passes,” tap “Add Credit or Debit Card.”
4. position your card in the camera frame, or enter the card information manually. If you’re asked to add the card that you use with apple id cards on other devices, or cards that you’ve recently added apple pay choose them, then enter the card security codes.
5. After your bank or issuer verifies your card, tap Next, start using Apple Pay

Tap the plus sign in the upper-right corner.

If you’re new to Apple Pay, tap the plus sign in the upper-right corner of the screen. If you’ve already set up Apple Pay, open the Wallet app and tap the plus sign in the upper-left corner.

Under “Your Credit or Debit Cards,” tap Add a different card. Use your iPhone’s camera to enter your card information or type it manually.

Under “Passes,” tap “Add Passes.”

Adding an Apple Gift Card to your Wallet is easy! Just follow the steps below:

1. Open the Wallet app on your iPhone.
2. Tap the “+” sign in the upper-right corner.
3. Under “Passes,” tap “Add Passes.”
4. Tap “Scan Code.” If you’re using an iPhone X or later, you can also tap “Add Card” and hold your iPhone near the card’s PIN number to scan it.
5. Use your camera to scan your Apple Gift Card, then tap “Add.” If you’re asked for a passcode and don’t have one, or can’t remember it, tap “Forgot passcode?”
6. Enter the 16-digit code that’s on the back of the card, then tap “Next.”
7. If prompted, enter your billing ZIP code.
8. Tap “Agree” to accept the terms and conditions of your card.
9. Tap “Add” to add your Apple Gift Card to Wallet.

Tap “Scan Codes.”

If you’re using an iPhone, open the Wallet app and tap the plus sign in the upper-right corner. From there, scroll down and tap “Scan Codes.” If you’re using an iPad, you’ll need to open settings app and select “Wallet & Apple Pay,” then tap “Add Credit or Debit Card.”

On the next screen, position your Apple Gift Card in front of your camera so that the card’s number and activation code are visible. If you’re having trouble, make sure there’s enough light and that you’re holding the card close enough to your device. Once your camera picks up the information, it will be automatically entered into the appropriate fields.

Use your iPhone’s camera to scan the QR code on the back of the Apple Gift Card. If you can’find a QR code, tap “You can also enter the code manually.”

If you can’t use your Apple Gift Card to buy something from the App Store, iTunes Store, or Apple Books, you might be able to use it to pay for subscriptions and iCloud storage.

You can also check the balance of your Apple Gift Card using the Wallet app on your iPhone:

1. Open Wallet and tap the plus sign .
2. Tap “Add a different card type.”
3. Tap “Apple Gift Card.” If you don’t see Apple Gift Card, tap “Edit,” then tap + and look for “Apple Gift Card.”
4. Use your iPhone’s camera to scan the QR code on the back of the card, or tap “You can also enter the code manually.” If you don’t have a QR code reader, you can get one from the App Store.
5. Follow the instructions on your screen to add your gift card.

You can check your Apple Gift Card balance at any time from your iPhone:

1. Open Wallet and tap passes. If you don’t see passes, scroll down and tap Edit Passes, then turn on passes that you want to see in Wallet.
2. Tap an pass to see more details or find places where you can use it.

Enter the 16-digit code on the back of the Apple Gift Card, then tap “Next.”

If you have a physical Apple Gift Card, you can add it to your Apple Wallet on your iPhone so you’ll have it with you when you make purchases at Apple Stores or other select retailers.

Here’s how:

1. Open the Wallet app on your iPhone.
2. Tap the plus sign in the upper-right corner.
3. Under “Pass,” tap “Redeem Gift Card or Code.” If you don’t see “Pass,” tap the back button in the upper-left corner first.
4. Enter the 16-digit code on the back of the Apple Gift Card, then tap “Next.” If you’re redeeming an App Store & iTunes Gift Card, make sure that the card’s value appears in your account before you use it to buy something. Learn what to do if your App Store & iTunes Gift Card isn’t showing a balance. If you’re asked for a verification code, there are a few ways to get one.5. Tap “Done.”

Tap “Done” to finish adding your Apple Gift Card to Wallet.

After you’ve scanned or entered the code, you’ll see a confirmation message if the card was successfully added to Wallet.

If you’re asked to enter the card’s security code, it will be on the back of the card (usually a four-digit number printed above your name and to the right of the 19-digit number).
