If you need to add a stop while you are using Apple Maps, you can do so easily by following the steps in this blog post.

Open the Apple Maps app.
Open the Apple Maps app. If you’re using a iPhone with 3D Touch, you start navigation by hard-pressing a location on the map.
Tap the Search bar.
Type in the name or address of your first destination, then tap Search. Or, if you’re using 3D Touch, hard-press a location on the map, then tap Route.
Tap Directions, then choose Drive, Walk, Transit, or Ride. If you’re using 3D Touch, tap Go.
Swipe up on the card at the bottom of the screen to see all your options for navigation.
Tap , then choose an option:
To add another destination along your route: Tap , then type in another address or landmark. Or, if you’re using 3D Touch on an iPhone 6s or later, hard-press another location on the map and tap Route. You can add up to 10 destinations.
To see step-by-step directions: Tap Steps at the top of the screen to see all turn-by-turn directions for your route. Swipe up on each card to see additional details about each step, like maps and estimated walking times between steps (where available).
To change your route options: Tap Options at the top of the screen and choose different transportation types or avoid highways or tolls (where available). You can also tap Details to see specific route information like estimated travel time and distance.
Type in your destination and start navigation.
When find a place you want to stop at, just tap and hold the screen until a pin drops. You can keep your finger on the screen and move the pin to adjust its position. To add more details, tap the pin, then tap Add to Tour.
Tap on the “Route” button.
If you’re in the middle of a trip and realize you need to make a stop, don’t worry — you can do so right from Apple Maps.
To add a stop, first tap on the “Route” button in the lower-right corner. Once you’ve done that, you’ll see a list of all the steps in your current route. To add a stop, simply tap on the “Add Stop” button.
From there, you can search for your desired location or browse through different categories (like Restaurants or Gas Stations) to find what you’re looking for. Once you’ve found the perfect spot, simply tap on it to add it as a stop. That’s all there is to it!

Assuming you’re using the Apple Maps app while driving, you’ll need toTtap on the “Stop” button. It looks like a rectangular box with a horizontal line through the middle. This will be in the bottom-right corner of the screen.
Type in the address or name of the stop.

On the Maps app, there are two ways to add a stop. One is by tapping on the “add” button at the bottom right corner of the screen, and the other is by long pressing on the map.
If you tap on the “add” button, a new window will pop up asking you to either search for a specific location or drop a pin on the map. If you search for a specific location, you can then tap on the “add” button next to it to add it as a stop.
If you drop a pin on the map, you can then tap on the “add” button that appears next to it to add it as a stop.
