Looking to get the most out of your Apple Pencil? Here’s a quick guide on how to activate it start using it with your iPad or iPhone.

Open the box and remove the Apple Pencil
To start using apple pencil remove it from the box, then peel off the protective cap. Underneath the cap is a small, flat section that’s used to attach and pair your Apple Pencil with your iPad.
Plug the Apple Pencil into the Lightning connector on your iPad
1. Plug the Apple Pencil into the Lightning connector on your iPad.
2. Wait for the Apple Pencil to charge for a few minutes.
3. Unplug the Apple Pencil from your iPad.
4. Tap the tip of your Apple Pencil on the screen of your iPad.
Wait for the Apple Pencil to pair with your iPad
Use your Apple Pencil with iPad
After you attach your Apple Pencil to your iPad, it appears in the list of available Bluetooth devices.
Tap the name of your Apple Pencil when it appears, then follow the onscreen instructions to pair it with your iPad.
might need to remove and reattach your Apple Pencil if you don’t see the pairing request.
Wait for the Apple Pencil to pair with your iPad. If you don’t see the pairing request on your iPad, make sure that Bluetooth is turned on. Then remove and reattach your Apple Pencil.
Tap the Apple Pencil icon on the Home screen
Your Apple Pencil is designed to work with your iPad and apple products To use it, you’ll need to activate it first. Here’s how:
1. Tap the Apple Pencil icon on home screen
2. Follow the instructions on the screen to pair your Apple Pencil with your iPad.
3. Once your Apple Pencil is paired, it will appear in the Devices list in settings app
4. Tap the Apple Pencil icon again to open the Apple Pencil settings, where you can customize how your Apple Pencil works with your iPad and other apps.
Follow the on-screen instructions to complete the setup
To set up and use your Apple Pencil, follow these steps:
Update your iPad to the latest version of iOS.
Make sure that Bluetooth is turned on.
Plug your Apple Pencil into the Lightning connector on your iPad.
Tap the Pair button when asked.
After you pair your Apple Pencil, it stays paired until you restart your iPad, turn on Airplane Mode, or pair with another iPad.
Use the Apple Pencil
The Apple Pencil is pressure-sensitive, so you can vary the line width and opacity of your drawing by pressing more lightly or more forcefully on the screen. To use the Apple Pencil, just take it out of the box and start writing.
If you want to adjust the sensitivity of your Apple Pencil, go to Settings > General > Accessibility > 3D Touch. From there, you can adjust the Sensitivity slider to fit your needs.
