How to Pair Your Apple Watch

In this article, we’ll explain how to pair your new Apple Watch with your iPhone. Once you’ve turned on your new Apple Watch and held it close to your iPhone, you’ll see a message on your iPhone asking if you want to pair with your Apple Watch. Tap Continue, and then follow the prompts.

Open watch app on your iPhone.

Tap the My Watch tab, then tap Pair New Watch.

Position your iPhone so that your Apple Watch appears in the viewfinder in the Watch app. If you’re asked to enter a passcode on your Apple Watch, enter the passcode.

Tap Continue. For cellular models, choose to Set Up Cellular or Set Up Later. If you have an wearable device that’s capable of making phone calls, you might see a message that says Wearable device is not eligible for cellular service. Just tap Continue. Then wait for a message that says Wearable device is paired successfully.

Assuming you’ve already set up your iPhone, open the Watch app. You should see a screen that says “Welcome to Apple Watch.” If not, tap the My Watch tab at the bottom of the app. On the Welcome to Apple Watch screen,tap start pairing

Hold your Apple Watch close to your iPhone.

Tap Start Pairing on the bottom of the screen.
If you’re asked to sign in with apple id enter your password.
Hold your Apple Watch close to your iPhone. A message should pop up that says “Use your iPhone to set up this Apple Watch.”
Tap Continue and wait for an animation to appear on your iPhone. When you see the animation, hold the side button on your watch until you see the Apple logo.

If you see an animation on your Apple Watch, wait for it to finish before you continue. If you don’t see an animation, press and hold the side button to turn on your Apple Watch.

Tap Continue on your iPhone.

If you see a screen that says, “Set Up Your Apple Watch,” tap Continue on your iPhone. If you don’t see that screen, wait for a moment, then open the Watch app.

On your iPhone, tap the Watch app icon.

Tap Pair New Watch, then tap Start Pairing. If you can’t connect, put your watch and iPhone close together and wait for a message that says “Fail” or “Try Again.”

Hold your watch close to your iPhone. A viewfinder appears on both devices. When the Apple logo or an image of an Apple Watch appears in the viewfinder on your iPhone, tap Continue. If you don’t see an image of an Apple Watch, make sure that your devices are in range of each other and aren’t blocked by metal or magnetic objects. After you pair your watch with your iPhone, you’ll need to set up Wi-Fi on your watch.

Choose a language on your iPhone.

1. On your iPhone, open the Apple Watch app.
2. Tap the My Watch tab, then tap General > Language.
3. Choose a language.
4. Select Custom to type in a different language that’s not listed.
5. Tap Done.

Open the Apple Watch app on your iPhone, then tap the My Watch tab.
Tap Language > Add a New Language, then choose a language.

On your Apple Watch, open the Settings app.
Tap Language > Add a New Language, then choose a language.

Tap Set Up Later on your iPhone.

If you don’t want to set up your Apple Watch right away, you can tap Set Up Later in the bottom left corner of the screen. You can also wait to set up your Apple Watch later from the Apple Watch app:

Open the Apple Watch app on your iPhone and tap Start Pairing.
Tap Set Up Later.

How to unpair your Apple Watch

If you have an Apple Watch and you want to connect it to your iPhone, you need to pair it. Here’s how: First, make sure that your iPhone is within range of your Apple Watch. Then, on your iPhone, open the Apple Watch app. Tap “Start Pairing” and hold your iPhone close to your Apple Watch.

Open the Watch app on your iPhone. Tap the My Watch tab, then tap Apple Watch. Tap the information icon next to the watch that you want to unpair. Tap Unpair Apple Watch, then tap again to confirm.

Tap the info button next to the watch that you want to unpair.

Tap Unpair Apple Watch.

For GPS + Cellular models, choose to keep or remove your cellular plan. If you decide to keep your plan, your Watch will stay connected to your carrier’s cellular network and you can make and receive calls and texts, even when your iPhone is off or out of range.

Tap your watch at the top of the screen.

Open the Settings app on your iPhone, then tap Bluetooth.
Make sure that Bluetooth is turned on.
Tap the info button next to your Apple Watch, then tap Forget This Device.

On your iPhone, open the Apple Watch app.

Tap the My Watch tab, then tap your watch at the top of the screen.

Tap the information button next to your watch.

Tap Un Pair Apple Watch.

For GPS + Cellular models, choose to keep or remove your cellular plan. If you want to keep your plan, you can continue to receive calls and texts from your iPhone on your watch.

Tap Un Pair.

Tap Unpair Apple Watch.

On your iPhone, open the Apple Watch app. Tap the My Watch tab, then tap your watch at the top of the screen. Tap the info button next to the watch that you want to unpair, then tap Unpair Apple Watch. For GPS + Cellular models, you can also choose to keep or remove your cellular plan. If you see Remove rather than Unpair, it means that your watch is still paired with an iPhone. You need to unpair it from your iPhone before you can pair it with another.

Tap I Agree.

On your iPhone, open the Watch app. Tap Start Pairing on the main screen, then tap I Agree on the next screen.

Enter apple id password

On your iPhone, open the Apple Watch app. Tap the My Watch tab, then tap your watch at the top of the screen. If you’re asked for a passcode, enter it. If you don’t have a passcode, tap Erase all content and settings, then tap Erase All to confirm.

If you’re asked to enter your Apple ID password, do so. If you can’t remember your password, tap “Forgot password” and follow the instructions on your screen.

Tap Unpair.

Before you sell or give away your Apple Watch, you need to unpair it from your iPhone. When you unpair, your Apple Watch backs up to your iPhone automatically. Make sure that you have a recent backup of your iPhone to avoid losing data.

To unpair using the Watch app:
1. On your iPhone, open the Watch app.
2. Tap the My Watch tab, then tap your watch at the top of the screen.
3. Tap the info button , then tap Unpair Apple Watch.
4. Tap Unpair [watch].
If you can’t access the Watch app on your iPhone, you can unpair directly from your Apple Watch:
1. Press and hold the side button until you see Power Off.
2. Drag the slider to turn off Power Off, then tap Unpair Apple Watch > Unpair [watch].
