Apple Pay is a great way to pay someone back, whether it’s for a coffee or a larger purchase. Here’s how to do it!

Open the Messages app
Open the Messages app, start a new conversation or tap an existing one.
Tap apple pay button . If you don’t see the Apple Pay button, tap first.
Enter the amount you want to send.
Tap Pay, then tap Send. might need to authenticate with Face ID, Touch ID, or your passcode.
Open the Messages app, then tap the Compose button to start a new message. Or go to an existing conversation.
Tap the Apple Pay button , then tap Pay. Or tap , then tap the Apple Pay button .
Enter an amount, then tap Pay. To pay with a different card, tap , then choose a card.
Tap the Send button .
Enter the phone number, email address, or name of the person that you want to pay
When you open the Wallet app and tap , you can enter the phone number or email address of the person that you want to pay. If you have the person’s contact information saved in your Contacts app, you can enter their name.
You can also ask Siri to send money to someone, or use the Apple Pay button in Messages.1
If you don’t have the person’s contact information saved in your Contacts app, tap Add Contact. After you enter the person’s information, tap Done.
To pay, just tap the Apple Pay button . You might need Sign in with Touch ID or Face ID. Depending on the store, you might also be asked to provide a PIN.
Enter the amount you want to send
After you select the person you want to pay, enter the amount you want to send.
You can also tap or click the Pay button to enter an amount, then tap or click Pay.
To pay in a different currency, tap or click next to your name, then select the currency you want to use.
Tap Pay
One of the great features of Apple Pay is that you can use it to send money to other people. Here’s how:
1. Open the Messages app and start a new conversation or tap an existing one.
2. Tap the Apple Pay button. It looks like a white credit card in a green circle. If you don’t see the Apple Pay button, tap the plus sign and then tap Apple Pay.
3. Enter the amount you want to send.
4. Tap Pay, then tap Send.
5. Confirm your payment with Face ID or Touch ID.
Review your payment and tap Send
Before you use apple pay to send or receive money, you need to set up Apple Pay Cash on your iPhone. Once you’ve done that, paying someone is easy.
To pay someone with Apple Pay:
1. Open the Messages app and start a new conversation or go to an existing conversation.
2. Tap the Apple Pay button . If you don’t see the Apple Pay button, tap .
3. Enter the amount you want to send.
4. Tap Pay, then tap the send button .
If you have more than one payment method set up in Apple Pay, you can choose which one to use:
1. Tap the Apple Pay button .
2. In the top-right corner, tap , then tap your preferred payment method.
3. Tap Pay, then tap the send button .
