This  once again is living proof that Samsung is never going to stop ripping off Apple’s design team or make their own damn products. As the latest product design to be ripped off by Samsung is their new Chromebox, which looks almost identical to the Mac mini: a tiny aluminum box with a black circular opening at the bottom. It’s obvious that Samsung never had a design team, they just only have a copy and paste team.

This another valid reason why I banned ALL Samsung products from my home.

On June 22, it will thus become the first pre-paid carrier in the country to offer the iPhone to customers who opt for its no-contract, $55 per month ‘unlimited’ voice, text and data plan for smartphones.

Unlimited, in this case, means under a ‘fair usage’ policy of 2.3 GB per month.

The iPhone 4S and iPhone 4 smartphones will be available online and in Cricket-owned stores and dealers in nearly 60 markets across the US.

The iPhone 4S will be available for $499.99 (16 GB model) while the iPhone 4 can be purchased for $399.99 (8 GB model).

Cricket Communications claims 6.2 million customers.

Cricket offers wireless voice and mobile data services over 4G LTE and 3G CDMA wireless networks. Its parent company, Leap, is the owner of the seventh largest wireless telecommunications network in the U.S. with coverage in all 50 states.

Cricket is the latest regional wireless carrier to receive the iPhone, as Apple has been aggressively expanding the presence of its smartphone to smaller carriers in the U.S. Earlier this month, Apple added Kentucky’s Bluegrass Cellular, California’s Golden State Cellular, and Kansas’ Nex-Tech Wireless to its list of official carrier partners.

In April a total of five carriers began selling the iPhone 4S and iPhone 4: Alaska Communications, Appalachian Wireless, Cellcom, GCI and nTelos. And last October, the iPhone also launched on C Spire Wireless, a regional U.S. carrier with about 900,000 customers.

Steve Jobs made his last appearance at D: All Things Digital in June of 2010.

During the last 8 or so years of his career at Apple, Steve Jobs gave his most famous interviews at the annual D: All Things Digital conference. Sitting opposite veteran journalists Walt Mossberg and Kara Swisher, Jobs was known for candidly answering questions and giving his honest opinion on hot topics.

Following the D10 interview with current Apple CEO Tim Cook yesterday, AllThingsD has made its entire collection of Steve Jobs interviews available as a free download in the iTunes Store.

There’s lots of video of the late Steve Jobs, primarily from his famous introductions of Apple products over the years, and from his oft-quoted Stanford commencement address.

But by far the largest trove of video of the legendary innovator candidly answering unrehearsed questions and explaining his views on technology and business comes from his six lengthy appearances at our D: All Things Digital conference, from 2003 to 2010.

The podcast contains 6 videos, including Jobs’s appearances at D1, D2, D3, D5 and D8. A special video clip is devoted to the famous face-off between Jobs and Microsoft’s Bill Gates. There’s also a small package that contains articles on Jobs, including two from beloved tech pundit (and close friend of Jobs) Walt Mossberg.

The interviews Jobs gave at D conferences will forever remain defining moments that shaped the public’s perception of the Apple co-founder. Over the years Jobs shared his opinions on a broad range of topics, including his personal philosophies, Android, Microsoft, Apple culture, and more.

Cook also revealed that the refreshed 1080p Apple TV boosted sales this year, which have reached 2.7 million so far in the first five months 2012. That compares to 2.8 million in the entirety of 2011.

The Apple CEO also hinted that his company os working on closer integration with the social networking site Facebook, and that Apple plans to add more integration with social networking services in general in more of its products. He also admitted that the company could kill off its Ping social music discovery service found in iTunes.

In the interview, Cook was also asked about his relationship with late Apple co-founder Steve Jobs, and he revealed that he decided he wanted to work for Apple just five minutes after meeting the charismatic Jobs. A clearly emotional Cook also said that when Jobs passed away last year, it was one of the saddest days of his life.

The 51-year-old executive was also asked about the patent system, and said he believes the system for enforcing standards-essential patents is broken. Cook also defended Apple’s patent disputes with other companies, but admitted that the current patent situation is a “pain in the ass,” and a problem for innovation.

Also, making games temporarily free has proven to be an important promotional tool to gain visibility and increase a user base for your game on the App Store. This has created a whole new market of 3rd party free app promotion websites and services, but it appears that even Apple might be getting in on the free game bandwagon as well.

Cut the Rope: Experiments [Free / Free (HD)] is their “Free App of the Week”, which as far as we can tell is the first of its kind.

Cut the Rope: Experiments is an excellent game and you should go download it immediately if you haven’t already, no matter what the promotion is. But it will be interesting to see if this is something that Apple keeps doing each week, and I’d be curious to know how they decide on which games or apps to promote.

Also worth pointing out are a couple of changes to the App Store itself, like the disappearance of the Staff Favorites section, the changing of the iPhone/iPad Game of the Week banners on the front page of the App Store to “Editor’s Choice”, and the ridiculously large banner text denoting Cut the Rope: Experiments as the App of the Week right on the game’s App Store page.

I’ll keep our eye on the App Store to see how this free app promo works out, but it’s nice to see Apple exploring different promotional ideas on their own.

Grand Theft Auto 3, $0.99 – Grand Theft Auto 3 introduced the concept of a “living, breathing [and 3D] world” with plenty of people to run over and things to blow up or steal. Its mobile companion is a solid port that sees this vision through on both the iPhone and iPad.

Grand Theft Auto: Chinatown Wars, $0.99 – Chinatown Wars was once a high-profile DS title that didn’t see the kind of sales it needed, despite being an otherwise clever top-down take on the series. On iPhone, Chinatown feels intuitive and the scale of its content is insane.

Grand Theft Auto: Chinatown Wars HD, $0.99 – Chinatown feels better on iPad thanks to the larger screen real estate. If you had to pick one or the other, definitely get this version.

This sale, of course, is in celebration of the release of the game’s latest expansion, Vault of Tears. The new area, which has a ton of new monsters and items, is available now as a part of a free update that also adds a treasure map and an annoying sounding new social media tie-in that gives Twitter and Facebook users the power to participate in ClashMob events without actually playing up the game.
